By using imghex.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What the service is

ImgHex is a free browser-based tool for sampling colors from images and extracting color palettes. It requires no account and is provided at no cost.

Your images and your rights in them

You keep all rights to any image you open in the tool. Because images are processed locally in your browser and never uploaded, we do not receive, store or acquire any licence to your content.

You are responsible for having the right to use the images you open here. Do not use the tool with material you are not permitted to process.

Color values and outputs

Color codes, palettes and exported files produced by the tool are yours to use freely, including commercially. We claim no rights over them.

Note that a color value is a measurement, not a licence: extracting a color from a logo does not give you the right to use that logo or the trademark it belongs to. Colors themselves are generally not copyrightable, but trade dress and trademark law may still apply to how you use them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the site in a way that breaks the law in your jurisdiction
• Attempt to disrupt, overload or attack the site or its hosting
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service
• Reproduce the site as your own competing service

Accuracy

Color values are read from the decoded image data your browser produces. That is accurate for the pixels as rendered, but it can differ from an original design file because of compression, color profile conversion, anti-aliasing or the conditions in which a photograph was taken. Verify against source files before relying on a value for print or manufacturing.

Availability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including losses resulting from reliance on a color value produced by the tool.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above will change when we do, and continued use afterwards means you accept the revision.
