Privacy Policy

The short version

Your images never leave your device. ImgHex has no image upload, no account system, and no database of user content. Everything you do with an image happens inside your own browser.

Images you open

When you drop, choose, paste or link an image, it is decoded by your browser and drawn to a canvas in local memory. Color sampling and palette extraction read from that local canvas. No copy of the image is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and none is stored after you close or reload the page.

If you load an image by URL, your browser requests that image directly from whichever site hosts it. That request goes to the third-party site, not to us, and is subject to their privacy practices.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect:

• Your images, palettes, or any color values you pick
• Your name, email address or payment details
• Uploaded files of any kind

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are used and whether the tool is working — page views, referring site, approximate country, browser and device type. This data is aggregated and is not used to build a profile of you or to identify you individually. It never includes your images or the colors you extract.

Cookies and local storage

The tool itself sets no tracking cookies. If we later add features that remember your preferences, those will be stored locally in your browser and will remain on your device.

Advertising

The site does not currently show ads. If display advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated first to name the provider and describe what it collects, and any required consent mechanism will be in place before ads appear.

Third-party services

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard server request logs — including IP address — for delivery and security. This is ordinary web-server logging and is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy terms.

Children

This is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to export, correct or delete. If you believe we hold information about you and want it removed, contact us and we will act on it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date above will be updated. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
